About us

About us

"Take my hand e.V." was establised in Puchheim near Munich (Germany) in August 2020 by us Julia and Ali Beisenov. We come originally from Kazahstan and have lived in Germany for a long time. Since 2003 we have been helping Russian orphaned children to find their way in the world. These children often suffer from one or a number of problems such as traumatic experiences, inability to have a meaningful relationship, under-developed social and emotional skills or have had limited access to adequate medical care or educational opportunities.

Statistics from Russia show that, sadly only one child in ten that leaves an orphanage at the age of 18 will make a success of their life. The other nine end up as alcoholics, get involved in drugs, resort to crime and end up in prison or committing suicide...

How can we change this situation? For many years we have privately been in close contact with Russian volunteers, NPOs, orphanages and foster families. Together we strive to provide each child with specific personalised support, suitable health care and also to improve their access to education. In 2015 we ourselves adopted a handicapped child from Russia and we are happy to say our daughter is developing really well.

As we will be able to achieve much more together, we decided to establish in 2020 the charity association "Take my hand e.V." The objective of our association is to assist children in post-Soviet states in orphanages and after they leave them to get health care, education and support in emergency situations. Our current focus is on orphans in Ukraine and Russia, who are even more vulnerable because of the war.

In response to the devastating earthquakes in Turkey, we launched in the spring of 2023 an additional aid project to help children in the earthquake zone.

And even if we only make the world a little bit better overall, we can significantly improve the world for these specific children in their current situation - that is our vision.

Change children's fates with us!
