We provide psychosocial support to orphans in Ukraine to help them cope with their traumatic experiences. When necessary and possible, we evacuate Ukrainian orphanages to Germany and continue to care for them here.

Mentors for refugee orphans

With our mentoring program, we support Ukrainian orphans who have fled to Germany in a very personal way. The individual relationship with their mentors gives the children stability and helps them to find their feet in their new country.

In Uganda, many children do not have access to education. And without education, they remain trapped in the cycle of poverty. Our education project in Uganda enables orphans to attend school – giving them hope for a better future.

The NGO

Take my hand e.V. was founded in Munich in 2020. By building strong networks and working closely with competent local partner organizations, we promote equal opportunities for orphans in various countries. We support children in orphanages and after they have left home in the areas of education, health and emergency aid with a wide range of projects. Our current focus is particularly on orphans in Ukraine, who are even more dependent on help due to the war. Since 2024, we have also been supporting orphans in Uganda to give them access to education and thus break the vicious circle of poverty.

Our strengths

Thanks to our many years of experience and close links with Ukraine, Russia and Uganda, we are familiar with the problems of orphans on the ground.

We have built up a sustainable infrastructure and rely on trusted local partner networks at the children’s place of residence.
