Help for orphans in and from Ukraine
The problems faced by Ukrainian orphans did not begin with the war. Many of them have been living in orphanages since early childhood due to various crises within their families. These children are traumatised and carry deep emotional wounds. The war has only further worsened their already difficult situation.
In cooperation with local partner organisations in Ukraine, we offer psychosocial support to traumatised children and young people in orphanages. We help them process their traumatic experiences and find new ways to cope.
In some cases, evacuating Ukrainian orphanages to Germany becomes necessary. Since 2022, we have already evacuated three orphanages to Germany. For the refugee children now living in Germany, we provide support through mentoring and education.
In our project work, we closely cooperate with trusted networks in Ukraine. Thanks to our many years of experience, we have built a sustainable infrastructure of partner organisations and dedicated volunteers.
With a donation or a child sponsorship, you can help us strengthen and support children in Ukraine.
Our programmes for Ukrainian orphans:

Emergency aid for Ukrainian orphanages
We organise psychological support for orphans directly in Ukraine. In cooperation with our partner teams of psychologists, we support children and young people in Ukrainian orphanages to help them process their traumatic experiences. When necessary and possible, we evacuate orphanages to Germany and continue providing support to the children here.

Mentors for orphans
Through our mentoring programme, we provide personalised support to refugee orphans from evacuated Ukrainian orphanages now living in Germany. We train mentors who help these children with their integration into German society. The personal relationship with their mentors also helps the children experience stability and find emotional support.

Education for orphans
We prepare refugee children from evacuated Ukrainian orphanages in Germany for school. This includes providing school supplies and educational resources, as well as psychosocial support. Our psychosocial team and individual mentors assist the children to ensure a successful start to their education.
