Help for orphans in post-Soviet states
Many orphanages in Ukraine have currently been evacuated from dangerous areas and the children have been placed in other orphanages in safer Ukrainian areas. In such large, concentrated groups, orphans are under even more stress than usual. The staff are also overwhelmed and find it difficult to cope with the behavioural problems. We organise professional psychosocial support for Ukrainian orphanages so that the children can better cope with their traumatic experiences and receive more individual attention. To this end, we work with highly qualified psychologists with many years of experience on site.

- Reducing feelings of anxiety among children in Ukrainian orphanages
- Reducing the manifestations of aggressive behaviour
- Improving the psycho-emotional state of children
- Strengthening the sense of togetherness, mutual support
- Increasing motivation to cope with everyday life
With our "Help Bridge" project, we are currently providing psychosocial support for around 100 orphans in Ukrainian children's homes through a team of experienced psychologists. The work with the children is carried out through group work, individual counselling, motivational training, team-building measures, experiential educational approaches, etc.
Our teams of psychologists visit the orphanages up to five days a month. Between visits, the children's home staff receive recommendations for their work with the traumatised children. As psychological help can only be effective if it is provided on a regular basis, it is important that a children's home is accompanied for at least 6 months.
The calculated costs include the preparation and implementation of 1 month of psychological support by a team of psychologists, costs for work and play materials, transport costs, administration and coordination costs as well as bank charges.
With a
donation, you can help us to
provide the orphans with care and mental health. Your help will have an impact beyond Christmas and create
new prospects for orphans in Ukraine.
Thank you and Merry Christmas!
