About Take my hand e.V.
Take my hand e.V. was founded in Munich, Germany, by Julia and Ali Beisenov. Originally from Kazakhstan, the couple moved to Germany in 2002 and have been committed to supporting orphaned children in post-Soviet countries since 2003. In 2015, Julia and Ali adopted a child with a disability.
With the establishment of the NGO Take my hand e.V. in 2020, they aimed to expand their impact and provide targeted help to more children without family support. The organisation’s first project took place in Russia, where it supported children in orphanages through healthcare, access to education, and emergency aid.
Since 2022, the organisation has focused on orphaned children in Ukraine, who have become especially vulnerable due to the war. In addition to providing psychological support in local orphanages, the organisation has evacuated three orphanages to Germany.
In Germany, we support orphaned refugee children through mentoring and educational programmes. In 2023, our project “Mentors for Ukrainian Orphans” was awarded the Swabian Integration Prize.
Since 2024, Take my hand e.V. has also been committed to the education of orphaned children in Uganda. By covering school fees and providing learning materials, we aim to create long-term opportunities for these children and help break the cycle of poverty.
And even if our work only makes the world a little better as a whole, we can still make a significant difference in the lives of these individual children – that is our vision.
Change children’s futures with us!
